The Department of Nanocatalysis was established in early 2019 thanks to the ERA Chair project with a primary focus on the fundamental study of model catalysts designed with atomic precision down to the subnanometer scale. These catalysts are studied in heterogeneous reactions under realistic reaction conditions (pressure, temperature), with the aim of establishing relationships between the size and composition of nanocatalysts and investigating their performance, including support effects, in reactions of varying complexity - from model reactions to processes of industrial importance.
