The Department of Nanocatalysis is not only dedicated to top research, but is also engaged in educational activities. Just recently, the Department of Nanocatalysis opened its doors for an intern from Masaryk Secondary School of Chemistry, Prague. A young prospective scientist with passion for chemistry, Beata Balicharová, joined the team led by Dr. Vajda for two weeks and gained experienced of research work in academic laboratories. Praxis dedicated mainly to testing of catalytic properties of metal clusters were performed on a specially designed apparatus, which makes part of the unique, highly specialized equipment of the department. Ing. Valtera, Dr. Vaidulych and Dr. Vajda guided the intern. In addition, Miss Balicharová attended three lectures, given in English, covering heterogeneous catalysis and nanoparticle synthesis.
