From Wednesday April 15 to Monday April 20, our collaborators from Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) had beamtime at SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Center in Poland. Our third-year bachelor’s student, Petr Vítek joined Armin Kleibert and Swathilakshmi Swathilakshmi during beamtime.
The beamtime was focused on studying the reducibility of a thin layer of TiO2 at different temperatures. This is a very important parameter during catalysis. The measurements were performed at the beamline endstation with X-ray photoemission electron microscopy (XPEEM). This allowed for X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurements with spatial resolution.
